How We Started

Our Foundations

SATIREV began as a voluntary art and literature project created to share the lived experiences of people with endometriosis following founder Verity's own diagnosis.

After experiencing textbook symptoms from her pre-teens, Verity was not diagnosed until the age of 30, spending years living with debilitating pain and symptoms that were repeatedly dismissed as "just normal women's problems" or "something you have to live with." When she finally received a diagnosis, she discovered that her endometriosis was widespread and deeply infiltrating, with the possibility of major bowel surgery, including a stoma, and IVF being discussed as part of her future care.
 

Determined to turn her experience into something meaningful, Verity founded SATIREV as a platform for people to share their stories, raise awareness, and begin healing from the effects of medical dismissal, trauma, and life with chronic illness.
 

As the project grew, so did its impact. Journals, creative workshops, and reflection tools were developed to help individuals process their experiences, rebuild confidence, and reconnect with themselves. It quickly became clear that there was a need for wellbeing resources that embraced real life—supporting people through uncertainty, change, and personal growth rather than striving for perfection.
 

Today, those original ideas form the foundation of SATIREV: a creative wellbeing brand combining science, storytelling, creativity, and reflection through thoughtfully designed journals, intention-setting tools, and workshops that inspire intentional living, personal growth, and meaningful connection with yourself and the world around you.

Looking Forward

Verity considers it a privilege that SATIREV became part of her own healing journey. Through the Endometriosis Art & Literature Project, together with an incredible team of volunteers and hundreds of contributors who courageously shared their experiences through art and literature, she found acceptance, purpose, and a new direction.
 

The project ultimately inspired a move away from a career in physiotherapy towards a slower, more intentional life dedicated to supporting wellbeing, mental health, creativity, and human connection.
 

SATIREV is built on the belief that every story has value, every person deserves to feel seen, and that creativity has the power to heal, inspire, and bring people together. The community that helped shape its beginnings will always remain at the heart of everything the brand creates.
