OUR LOVE LETTER TO ALL WOMEN & GIRLS

The SATIREV SHOW is our heartfelt tribute to women, aiming to empower them to advocate for their health and well-being now and in the future. We have gathered 37 Health and Wellbeing experts who share their insights on:

  • Menstrual health

  • Menopause

  • Women’s health

  • Mental health

  • Fertility

  • Maternity

  • Neurodivergence

  • Health conditions

  • Cancer awareness and support.

Through keynote sessions, workshops, support groups, and an advocacy exhibition, our goal is to equip everyone with the knowledge needed to advocate for their health, learn how to recognize unhealth symptoms, improve their health & wellbeing, and be prepared for their future.

Recent studies indicate that women are frequently misdiagnosed with mental health issues like anxiety, with their pain & symptoms often dismissed as normal, leading to delayed treatment and sometimes life-altering diagnoses due to societal and medical misconceptions. Many women may wait over eight years for a correct diagnosis, often being misdiagnosed with conditions deemed 'medically insignificant' such as IBS, cysts, low pain tolerance, anxiety, or simply 'just a period.'

From personal experience, I believe that had my friends and I attended an event focused on self-advocacy & improving our health IQ, our health journeys could have been drastically different.

Despite growing awareness of women's health, misconceptions, debunked theories, and a lack of education persist. Many women are unsure how to perform breast or vulva self-exams due to inadequate education, they do not know what a 'healthy' period is, and often feel unprepared for significant life events like menopause or challenges of postnatal depression. With limited NHS support often focused on medication rather than holistic care, it raises the question of how much informed and prepared women could be for their health journeys.

Ultimately, empowering women with the health knowledge that could impact their future, is crucial for everyone to make informed decisions to safe guard their future wellbeing and know where and how to seek support.
